1. Let’s start with installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection

First you need to download the software for 32 bit or 64 bit Operating System.

You can check your operating system in 2 steps….

When installing will be done, the system will ask you for restart, you must restart your computer so the Symantec can proceed with the update of the database with the Anti-virus definitions.


2. After restarting your computer, start the program from the desktop icon. On the first running Main window of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Anti-virus will look like the picture below. Virus and Spyware Protection definitions are out of date, so you must update the database. You can press Fix or Life Update eider to start the process of updating.


When Life Update session is done, you must restart your computer again, so the software can take the effects. After the restart, your Main window should look like the picture below. If everything is okay you can finally start scan for threats.

3. You can chose either Active Scan (Scan only the most commonly infected areas) or Full Scan (Scans your entire computer and can be run in the background). It is recommended to fully scan your computer on the first running. In the default settings Automatic Scan and Update options are checked, so you can just enjoy wile your computer is completely protect.
