Mozilla Firefox

Have you ever ended up spending hours on Facebook, feeling like just a few minutes passed by. Are you of those type of people how cannot control themselves. Do you need some kind of external form of self-control to stop spending great amounts of time on useless things.

Firefox once again steps in to help you with its LeechBlock add-on. This is a simple productivity tool designed to block the time-wasting sites that can take much of your precious time.

Slika 1

All you need to do is specify which sites to block and when to block them.

Slika 2

You can state up to six sets of sites to block, with different periods of time for each set. You can block sites within fixed time periods, for instance between 8am and 4pm, after a time limit, for instance 15 minutes in every hour or with a combination of time periods and time limit, 15 minutes in every hour between 8am and 4pm. Also you can set a password for access to the extension options to be able to slow you down in moments of weakness.!

LeechBlock also keeps track of the exact amount of time you’ve spent browsing the sites in each block set.

How to get started with LeechBlock:

1. Install the Firefox web browser, if you have not already done that.

2. Install the LeechBlock extension from one of these sites:

Maybe you will need to restart Firefox after installation.

3. Select LeechBlock and then Options, from Firefox’s Tools menu to specify which sites to block and when.

Here are some important notes for using LeechBlock:

  • It is not designed for parental control or for blocking offensive content, therefore you are advised not to try to use it for these purposes.
  • Although LeechBlock prevents you from browsing sites, at the specified times, it may still allow your Firefox browser to briefly connect to those sites.
  • The password feature is not intended for security purposes. It is given only to make it more difficult to pass the blocking on the spur of the moment, i.e. to delay you just long enough for your conscience to turn on and stop you from making a mistake.

So these are some very useful steps that can save you time and teach you discipline as well.
