Gadwin PrintScreen is light-weight download (about 4 MB) application which is completely free of charge and allows the user to capture everything showing on the desktop including the mouse cursor. It is very easy to install and use. The users can select the screenshot’s source (current window, full screen), the file format (BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, or TIFF), the destination of the captured image and other options. 01 - download now icon

This tutorial guides you through http://www.snapfiles.com/get/gprintscreen.html where you should click on the Download Now icon. Then, new zip file named PrintScreen47_Setup.zip starts downloading to your computer.

02 - installation file

Open the downloaded zip file and click twice on PrintScreen47_Setup.exe file to start the installation.

03 - Installer Language

In Installer Language dialogue box select the application’s language that you will use and press OK.

On the next dialogue box click Next.

05 - License agreement box

In the License Agreement dialogue box press the I Agree button.

06 - destination folder

In the next dialogue box select the Browse button if you like to choose the destination folder (the folder where the application will be installed), or click the Install button to install the application in the default destination folder.

07 - completing

Check the Run Gadwin PrintScreen checkbox if you want to run the application after completing the installation, uncheck the Show Readme checkbox and click the Finish button.

Now you can start using Gadwin Screenshot with pressing the PrintScreen key from the keyboard, but before doing that you can click twice on the Gadwin PrintScreen icon located on your desktop to configure the application.

09 - preferences

In the Preferences section of Gadwin dialogue box there are very useful options. Click the PrintScreen drop down list to select the short cut key for the Print screen action. If you check the Show notification messages checkbox, every time you press the PrintScreen shortcut key, a message box appears with notification that the capturing has been completed.

If you check the Preview the captured image checkbox, every time you press the PrintScreen button a preview of the captured image appears. Choose Continue Output button to confirm the capturing. You can use the Zoom slider to zoom the preview.

11 - source section

In the Source section you can set the print screen area. You can choose Full Screen to capture the whole desktop view, or Current Window to capture the current active window. With Rectangular area option you can select rectangular area by your choice. By checking the Capture Mouse Cursor checkbox you activate the capturing of the mouse cursor.

12 - destination section

In the Destination section you can set multiple options like copy the captured area directly to the printer, sending the captured area via email, set the file name, set the location of the folder where the captured images should be saved etc.

13 - Image section

In the Image section, the most important option is the Type of Image label, where you can choose the type of the saved image from the drop down list. After configuring the desired options click on the OK button to save the changes.

Once you press the Print Screen key you can paste the selection by pressing the Ctrl + V keys in the applications like MS Paint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc.

It is important to know that while you configure the Gadwin PrintScreen application, you cannot use it for print screen action.
