HOW TO APPLY VISUAL EFFECTS TO SHAPES IN MICROSOFT WORD 2010

In this tutorial you will learn how to apply a visual effect to the selected shape. Word 2010 offers different visual effects, such as: Shadow, Reflection, Glow, Soft Edges, Bevel and 3-D Rotation.

For applying visual effects to the selected shape follow these 3 steps:

1. After inserting and selecting the desired shape, the Format tab in Drawing Tools will appear.

First, you need to click on Format;

2. Then, you need to click on Shape Effects button. A new menu will appear.

3. Next, you need to drag the mouse over different visual effects to see how the selected shape will look like, and then you need to choose the desired effect;

3.1. For using Shadow, after completing the steps No.1 and 2:

Select the Shadow option. (A new menu will appear).

Click on No shadow option or drag the mouse over different options and click on the desired Shadow in the Outer group, Inner group or Perspective group.

3.2. For using Reflection, after completing the steps No.1 and 2:

Select the Reflection option. (A new menu will appear)

Click on No Reflection option or drag the mouse over different variations and click on the desired Reflection Variation.

3.3. For using Glow, after completing the steps No.1 and 2:

Select the Glow option. (A new menu will appear)

Click on No Glow option or drag the mouse over different Glow Variations and click on the desired Glow Variation.

3.4. For using Soft Edges, after completing the steps No.1 and 2 :

Select the Soft Edges option. (A new menu will appear)

Click on No Soft Edges or drag the mouse over different options and click on the 1 Point, 2 Point, 2.5 Point, 5 Point, 10 Point, 25 Point or 50 Point.

3.5. For using Bevel, after completing the steps No.1 and 2 :

Select the Bevel option. (A new menu will appear)

Click on No Bevel option or drag the mouse over different variations and click on the desired Bevel variation.

3.7. For using 3-D Rotation, after completing the steps No.1 and 2:

Select the 3-D Rotation option. (A new menu will appear)

Click on No Rotation option or drag the mouse over different variation and click on the desired variation in the Parallel group, Perspective group or Oblique group.
